Spring Forward

My alarm went off at 6am. I reached for the snooze button, momentarily forgetting that there was a baby in between me and the alarm clock. Oh crap, I thought. Did I wake her? I snuggled next to her for a few more minutes and then slowly inched my way off the bed. I had taken a shower the night before and had my outfit sitting on a chair in the living room. El has actually gotten pretty good at sleeping through the night so long as I am home when she goes to bed, but she cannot be counted on, so I had to be prepared for the possibility that she would be in our bed by morning. I was out the door in less than 30 minutes. It was still dark. Forty minutes later I arrived in midtown. It was still dark

I’m hoping this means I’ll get out of work tonight while it is still light.
